Up-and-coming rapper FastCash CMoney was killed over the weekend in a shootout in Memphis, roughly a month before he was scheduled to be released from federal probation.

The shooting occurred around 12:20 a.m. Sunday in the neighborhood of Frayser, on the north side of the city, according to Memphis police. Footage obtained by several local outlets shows multiple cars unleashing a hail of bullets in the direction of several homes and then fleeing the scene.

Responding officers later found CMoney shot to death about a half a mile away, reported Fox 13 Memphis.

CMoney, whose real name was Cordney Smith, was previously convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances in 2019, along with 17 other associates of the FastCashBoyz entertain
