An officer at the Pulaski County Juvenile Detention Center has been fired following an investigation into an inappropriate comment he reportedly made to a female juvenile detainee, the county announced Tuesday.

A county spokesperson confirmed that Reginald Cooley, an employee for two years and 11 months, had been terminated, but did not know what the comment was.

According to a news release, an Arkansas State Police investigation found that Cooley had not committed any criminal act.

"Any behavior that compromises the safety, dignity, or well-being of youth in our care is unacceptable and will be addressed swiftly and decisively," the news release said. "The juvenile's parents were notified promptly, and the youth continues to receive support and evaluation from a licensed counselor."
