All water precautions near Camp Richardson Resort have been lifted after tests showed E. coli levels met or exceeded state standards, the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board announced Tuesday.

The board said regular weekly summer sampling will resume through the week of Sept. 8. No illnesses were reported.

“We are thankful for the public's patience and understanding as we worked closely with our partners to ensure the safety of our visitors,” said Daniel Cressy, public services staff officer for the U.S. Forest Service.

The advisory began earlier this month after routine testing on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe detected elevated E. coli levels near the resort. The resort inspected its sewer lines, found a leak and repaired it.
