CHICAGO (WGN) - Chicago firefighters and paramedics have reached a tentative contract agreement with the city of Chicago after working without a contract for nearly four years.
President of Local 2 Pat Cleary spoke Tuesday from Springfield after years of talks about a contract for Chicago's firefighters and paramedics. A tentative agreement is now on table, but the city could sign off on it in a matter of weeks.
"It's a good contract, but I don't like the process, but I'm happy for members. They deserve it," Cleary said. "We're not in the endzone yet...I'm hoping at the September meeting it'll be done."
While full details have not been released, WGN-TV can confirm it includes years of retroactive pay.
