WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) — Exactly 20 years from today, on August 12, 2045, one of the most spectacular celestial events in history will sweep across the United States — a total solar eclipse.

That means the moon will cover almost all of the sun, creating a dramatic darkening of the sky in the middle of the day.
