HARTFORD, Conn. — A Hartford Catholic church parish will be elevated to the status of archdiocesan shrine Thursday.
According to the Archdiocese of Hartford , a Marian shrine dedication will be held at the Maria Reina de la Paz Parish, located at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church on New Britain Avenue, on Aug. 14 at 7 p.m.
The archdiocese described the shrine as a "sacred pilgrimage destination" for all local Catholics.
The dedication will not only recognize the parish as a shrine but will also make it one of three destinations within the Archdiocese of Hartford for the Jubilee 2025 pilgrimage.
"For years, Maria Reina de la Paz Parish has offered daily Masses, the rosary, weeknight confessions, overnight confessions on First Fridays and numerous Marian celebrations throughout the year
