EUGENE — The nonconference game college basketball fans in the Northwest have clamored for is finally happening.
Oregon and Gonzaga are in negotiations to play at Moda Center on Dec. 21, a source with knowledge of the matter confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive. The source requested anonymity due to the game contract still being finalized.
Game time, ticket sales and television broadcast information will be announced later. The Big Ten has the broadcast rights to the game, according to a source, making it likely it will be broadcast on FOX or FS1.
Oregon leads the all-time series 19-4, with the last meeting coming in the 2019 Battle 4 Atlantis. The last time the teams met in the continental United States was Dec. 29, 1983, as part of the Far West Classic, also in Portland.
