Suffolk County police arrested a Bay Shore woman Tuesday, charging her with attacking a 14-year-old girl with a metal water bottle outside Brentwood High School.

Police said the 14-year-old girl began arguing with the woman's 15-year-old daughter as the two teens left the school at about 11 a.m.

During the argument, police said Toni Monroe, 35, began hitting the 14-year-old multiple times with the metal water bottle. A school security guard broke up the fight and police arrested Monroe in the school parking lot.

The 14-year-old student was taken to a hospital to be treated for her non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Monroe was charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. She was being held overnight at the Suffolk Police Fourth Precinct and she was
