BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. —

The body of a missing 10-year-old Kentucky boy has been found after a weeklong search, and the boy's mother is now facing charges.

Jayden Spicer was last seen Tuesday evening in the community of Jackson in Breathitt County, Kentucky. That's in the eastern part of the state, about an hour and a half southeast of Lexington.

Spicer was reported missing to Kentucky State Police in the Panbowl Branch Road area around 9:23 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6.

KSP said they believe Spicer may have left his home during the overnight hours or early Wednesday morning.

Troopers and local search and rescue teams responded quickly and began a search of the surrounding area.
