The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested one of its corrections deputies on Tuesday, accusing them of fraudulent timekeeping practices and theft.

According to deputies, Arielle Hester, between 2024 and 2025, was discovered to have “repeatedly” claimed compensation for time she didn’t work, including claims of working full 12-hour shifts when she had actually called out or was not present.

Investigators said they also learned that Hester, 36, overrepresented the amount of in-service training hours she had completed, stating she completed 11 hours during an eight-hour session.

In total, Hester’s fraud amounted to $4,478.63, the sheriff’s office said, adding that she knowingly and intentionally benefited herself by falsifying official records and documents.
