CORVALLIS — The City of Corvallis is asking residents to weigh in on the future of two key downtown buildings -- city hall and the police station -- during a public open house Tuesday evening.

Officials say the proposed upgrades are about ensuring safety, improving service delivery, and making fiscally responsible investments that reflect community priorities. Both facilities are decades old. City Hall has been in its current building since 1956, but the structure’s history dates back to 1941, when it first served as a church.

The Corvallis Police Station, a shared facility with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, was built in the mid-1970s.
