Police and SWAT units responded to a person who barricaded themselves inside an apartment Tuesday in Hialeah.

The situation is unfolding on 12th Avenue and 53rd Street.

Hialeah Police said the person is alone inside the apartment, and the area is surrounded by officers.

Nearby apartments were evacuated as a precaution.
