WILKES-BARRE — Roughly 25 concerned citizens attended a liquor licence transfer hearing Tuesday to protest the sale of alcoholic beverages at a proposed convenience store in the Parsons neighborhood of Wilkes-Barre.
Ghost Six Packs to Go LLC requested the transfer of a license from the former El Cielo Bar and Restaurant in Ashley to 1075 Scott St., a vacant and derelict building that once housed Nowak’s Ornamental Iron Works.
City Council will vote on whether or not to approve the transfer at Thursday’s regular session. Anyone who wishes to make additional comments on the transfer may do so at that meeting.
At Tuesday’s hearing, Attorney John Rodgers represented the LLC, which is owned by Baljeet Singh, Sukhjinder Singh and Sujan Mathon.
