District officials proposed Tuesday that some Baltimore County Public School magnet programs not accept applications in the coming year, with plans to eventually phase some out entirely.
There are 116 magnet program options over 32 locations, said Douglas Elmendorf, executive director of the district’s Department of Academic Programs, Options and Services, which administers the programs. Over 18,800 students are enrolled in a magnet program in the district of nearly 110,000 students, he said.
