A company specializing in security solutions is grappling with their own sense of security after a catalytic converter theft from one of their work trucks was caught on surveillance footage last week.
Early Friday morning, a two-man crew stole the catalytic converter off a work truck in Chicago's South Austin neighborhood on the 5900 block of West Roosevelt road.
It took the thieves just 68 seconds to climb under the truck, but the catalytic converter lose and flee from the scene.
Ravid Ayala with Taurus Security Shutters said the vehicle wouldn't start, and then he noticed some debris on the ground.
Prior to the incident, Ayala said he felt they had taken every step possible to keep their business safe.
"We have the security camera, it's right in front of the business," he said, addi
