CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL)-- Renovations at Giant City School are in their final stages, with teachers and staff working hard to prepare for students' return.

The school's superintendent and principal, Khristopher Mason, says they have the flooring installed, a repainted roof, and a new HVAC system installed. But he says they still have some more updates to complete before students arrive.

“So right now what they're trying to do is get the final partitions in the bathrooms, so those installs are going in this week,” Mason said.

But in the meantime, teachers are working hard to set up their classrooms before their students return on August 20th.
