The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has outlined the western portion of the Gulf for possible tropical formation.

A tropical wave brought heavy showers and storms to parts of Nicaragua and Honduras on Tuesday and is forecast to move over the Yucatán and into the Gulf/Bay of Campeche by the end of the week. As it moves north-northwest, it could develop into a tropical depression.

While the circulation is expected to move into either far south Texas or far northern Mexico, the system could still bring storms with threats of heavy rain and possible flooding to Louisiana.
