Just days after winning the Powerball with his mother in Kentucky, James Farthing was arrested on April 29 for allegedly assaulting an officer in Florida.
The 50-year-old man had purchased $2 lottery tickets at a hometown store in Georgetown, Kentucky. Luck was on his side, and he won a prize of $167.3 million — the largest ever awarded in the state.
However, a video shows that two nights after winning the jackpot, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office in Florida arrested him at a hotel.

Farthing attempted to flee, but one officer used a taser on him and carried out the arrest.
