ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

The county and city have made a big investment in the well-being of the young people who live here.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of New Mexico and the Youth Services Coalition have received a combined $850,000 from the Bernalillo County Commissioners and the Albuquerque City Council to use for youth programming, staffing and club operations in the metro area.

The Youth Services Coalition includes the BGCCNM, Junior Achievement, YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Warehouse 505.

Bernalillo County commissioner Eric Olivas was instrumental in securing a $350,000 "funding instrument" for the recipients.
