WACO, Texas — A long-time staple of Lorena ISD football has been recognized for his impact on the district.

On Monday, Aug. 11, former Lorena Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Ray Biles was presented with the Dave Campbell Award at the Baylor Kick Off luncheon, celebrating his "outstanding career and the impact he had at Lorena," the district said.

Biles led the Leopards for 31 years , beginning in 1992, amassing a 207-141 record and a state title during his time with the team.

Under Biles leadership, the Leopards took home the 3A Div. I State Championship in 2021, making it to the playoffs six of his last seven seasons with the team. He retired in 2023.
