Severe storms late Tuesday triggered flash flooding across Catoosa County, forcing the evacuation of more than 100 residents from two Fort Oglethorpe apartment complexes.

Swift water rescue teams from Catoosa and Walker Counties evacuated 80 people from The Crossings on Fant Drive and 35 from Fountain Brooks on Cross Street, where floodwaters reached waist-deep. No injuries were reported.

Evacuees were transported by Catoosa County Transit to temporary shelters at Constitution Hall and Westside Voting Precincts. The Northwest Georgia Red Cross is providing overnight shelter at the Catoosa Training Center Rifle Range near Ringgold.
