STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- City Council members expressed displeasure Aug. 5 with the way administration officials told them about a proposed merger of Strongsville’s Southwest Emergency Dispatch System with Bedford-based Chagrin Valley Dispatch.
The recommendation to join Chagrin Valley Dispatch came after three communities -- Berea, Olmsted Falls and Olmsted Township -- recently left Southwest.
Council has placed an ordinance that would authorize the merger on first reading.
Councilwoman Ann Roff asked if the three communities said why they left Southwest.
Law Director Neal Jamison said the three communities simply sent Strongsville one- or two-sentence letters saying they would no longer be part of Southwest.
“There was never any formal indication why they left,” Jamison said. “You’d h
