SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - The Sioux Falls City Council has 21 days to review Mayor Paul TenHaken's proposed 2026 Budget before its first reading on September 2nd. And Tuesday, City Councilors said this year's budget is prompting a lot of difficult conversations.

"Since my time on the Council, this has been the most interesting budget that we've experienced and are discussing and considering," Rich Merkouris, At-Large Sioux Falls City Councilor, said. "I believe that, for sure, September 2nd comes around, this is going to be the most budget amendments that are going to be offered, I believe, since I've been on the Council."
