HOUSTON -- Dustin May pitched six scoreless innings to earn his first win in a Boston uniform as the Red Sox pummeled the Astros, 14-1 , on Tuesday night at Daikin Park, evening their three-game series.
May, whose start was his second since he was acquired from the Dodgers on July 31 , allowed five hits while striking out eight and walking one.
Carlos Narváez delivered Boston’s biggest blow, a three-run homer to left field off reliever Shawn Dubin that put the Red Sox up 5-0 in the sixth.
Alex Bregman added a two-run homer to right field off Dubin later in the inning, giving the third baseman long balls in back-to-back games against his former team and 16 home runs for the season.
