DETROIT LAKES — When Mother Nature talks, you have to listen and adjust. The second day of the Pine to Palm Golf Tournament was forced into a late shotgun start after late showers the night before, creating a fast-paced Tuesday afternoon.
Nearly two inches of rain hit the Detroit Lakes area Monday night. Detroit Country Club saw flooded areas and bunkers turned into splash pads. So the committee thought it was best to give course Superintendent Zachary Foltz and his crew time to do their magic.
That pushed the early morning Championship division tee times to 10:30 a.m. and the later Mid-Am and championship tee times to 3 p.m. Despite the late starts and faster play, the golfers enjoyed the clear and sunny skies.
