CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Year 27 for the SEMO Redhawks Soccer features a lot of changes, but the biggest one is its head coach.

After Heather Nelson retired , SEMO searched for its first head coach since Nelson joined back in the program’s first year in 1999.

John Klein steps into that role , signing with SEMO through 2027, bringing his style of soccer to Cape Girardeau.

“I like high energy. I like high pressure. I like high intensity. “I like to see good soccer,” Klein said. “Let’s keep the ball on the ground, let’s move it from side to side, use the entire field. We like to score goals. We want to play close to the opponent’s goal, play in the offensive half, and if the press is broken, we want to be organized defensively.
