This is the face of shoplifter who has been jailed after a five day Coventry crime spree. Luke Sargant, who is aged 28, has been described by police as a 'prolific' thief.

But he will spend the coming months behind bars after targeting shops around the city, pinching high value items in a spree lasting five days. His luck finally ran out when officers managed to arrest him.

He appeared in court last week, admitting the offences, and was subsequently jailed.

A spokesman for Coventry Police said: "A prolific shop thief who repeatedly targeted stores in Coventry has been jailed for his offending. Luke Sargant stole items including flowers, pregnancy kits, radios, coffee and confectionary worth around £250 in just five days.
