CULLMAN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Voters went to the polls in Cullman County on Tuesday, Aug. 12, to determine which Republican candidate will compete in a special election for Alabama House District 12.

Cindy Myrex will represent the Republican Party in the special general election on Oct. 28.

This after Myrex defeated Clint Hollingsworth in the primary runoff with 58% of the vote.

District 12’s House seat has been open since April when Republican Cory Harbison resigned.

Myrex will face Democrat Matthew Glover in the special election.
