ADAMSVILLE, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The subject of a Tennessee homicide investigation was taken into custody in Jefferson County Wednesday morning.

Adamsville Police officers were called to the Walmart on Hackworth Road at around 11 p.m. Thursday night for a suspicious person and vehicle.

While officers found the vehicle empty, officials received information that the vehicle was possibly one that had been stolen in Tennessee.

Believing the suspect had fled into the wood line near Walmart, Adamsville officers and Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies began a search for them, deploying the JCSO drone unit and tracking K9.

Hours later, at around 9 a.m., a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Sergeant was patrolling the area of Pratt Highway saw a man walking that matched the suspect’s description.
