A New Jersey municipal judge admitted to drinking before a solo car crash and later pleaded guilty to reckless driving, acknowledging that his conduct violated judicial ethics rules.
Judge Gary M. Price is a part-time judge in Edison who also operates a private law practice in South Plainfield. Price filed a formal answer to a judicial conduct complaint on July 29, 2025, acknowledging several key facts surrounding the crash and subsequent investigation.
The case against him was brought by the state Judiciary’s Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct, ACJC.
The crash occurred in South Plainfield on July 5, 2024, where Price struck a construction barrier which he said had been pushed out to the fog line of the roadway.
