A wildfire warning has been issued for Dumfries and Galloway with the hot, dry weather set to continue. ‌

Fire chiefs fear there is a “very high” risk of wildfire on Monday and Tuesday next week. ‌

Huge parts of the Galloway Forest were destroyed by a wildfire in April, which took emergency services several days to bring under control. ‌

Dumfries and Galloway has seen warm, dry weather for the last few days, which is set to continue into next week.

The “very high” wildfire risk came into effect in some parts of Scotland today, with Dumfries and Galloway most at risk on Monday and Tuesday.
