It continues to be a slow summer for Coventry City’s transfer business, all pointing for a potentially frantic end to the window.

The last thing the Sky Blues will want is for their key business to go to the wire with a deadline-day scramble to get signings over the line. But, with just over two-and-a-half weeks to go before the cut off point, time is running out for City’s head of recruitment Dean Austin to get the big deals done.

That’s not to say the club haven’t been trying, with two bids already rejected for Hull defender Charlie Hughes as we await to see whether Doug King will push the boat out and match the Tigers’ valuation, which is understood to be in excess of £10m, if not closer to £12m.
