JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 36-year-old man from Staten Island, N.Y. was hit and killed in a crash on State Road 9B in Jacksonville Tuesday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said at 9:30 p.m., the man who was riding a motorcycle, and an 18-year-old driving a sedan, were both traveling south on State Road 9B at Interstate 95 when the 18-year-old rear-ended the man.

Troopers said the motorcycle slid down the road on its left side, as the man was ejected from it. According to FHP, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

FHP said the teen remained at the scene following the crash and is cooperating with the agency's investigation.
