HIGH POINT — Nejari Crooks has had college scouts looking at her from the time she was in her early teens, thanks to her two parents who played for Jamaica’s national team.
Now a junior at Wesleyan Christian, the 6-foot-1 lefthander’s approach touch above 10 feet, sky-high kill percentage and immaculate passing made powerhouse Penn State call with an offer as soon as it could. Crooks trained with Team USA over the summer, and after attending Penn State’s prospect camp on June 11, received an offer from the Big Ten program at 8 a.m. on June 15, the first day that NCAA Division I schools can offer a rising junior.
