A table, a glass, a view of the water and, ah, there it is, an invigorating gust of breeze. This can be the antidote to a summer swelter, and it is often what locals seek down the coast.

But around the New Orleans area, a growing number of spots offer this remedy much closer to home.

There are more on the way. One new addition, the Batture, is on summer hiatus but still hosts a weekly farmers market (see below) and will return in the fall. And Delacroix , the next restaurant from John Besh and his BRG Hospitality group, is slated to open in early fall right on the river in Spanish Plaza.
