PORTLAND, Ore. — Cyclists and community members packed a City of Portland Bicycle Advisory Committee meeting Tuesday night, with many voicing opposition to the city’s plan to remove traffic diverters in Northwest Portland.

The city plans to remove concrete barriers with community gardens at Northwest 20th Avenue and Everett Street, as well as two others: one at Northwest Johnson Street and 14th Avenue, and another at 15th Avenue.

According to the City Administrator’s office, the proposed changes were developed jointly by the Portland Bureau of Transportation, the Portland Police Bureau, and Portland Solutions.
