WARREN A six-year-old child was taken to the hospital after police say she was struck by gunfire in Warren early Wednesday morning.

According to a press release, police responded to the 2400 block of Montgomery Avenue NW shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday after a caller said her six-year-old sister was shot.

The child was taken to the hospital and received medical treatment for her gunshot wound. There is no word on her current condition.

Police say the Montgomery Avenue home had bullet holes in it, and the rear end of the house was damaged.
