Fishing this past week has held up pretty decent in the Bemidji area.

The bass fishing had been crazy good but the latter part of this past week the bite had slowed a bit for numbers but the quality of fish went up.

Crappie and bluegill fishing hasn’t changed much and you'll still find those fish off the deeper weed edges. Small jigs and plastics have been working well for the crappies while slip bobber and panfish leeches or piece of worm is working well for the bluegills.

You’ll catch a few walleyes on area lakes using slip bobbers, jigging raps, and a jig and minnow is starting to turn a few fish in 12-20 feet.

I can’t believe we are halfway through August, so get out and enjoy our area lakes.
