BEMIDJI — The Bemidji Senior Center will host a Medicare 101 class and presentation on Alzheimer's disease at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the center, 216 Third St. NW.

Joan Miller will present Medicare 101 in the Center's conference room. Attendees will learn the ins and outs of Medicare, a release said.

At the same time, Joseph Gaugler, PhD, will give a presentation titled, "Alzheimer's Disease: What it is and What Can Be Done."

Gaugler is the Robert L. Kane Endowed Chair in Long-Term Care and Aging and a professor at the University of Minnesota. His work focuses on the best way to support families and professionals who care for persons with memory loss.

He aims to improve the health and well-being of carers through innovative programs and technologies, the release said.
