The First Alert Forecast has trended a bit stormier heading into the afternoon. A large line of rain and embedded storms will sweep through Maryland during the afternoon and early evening hours. Wednesday is now a First Alert Weather Day, due to the greater risk of storms impacting later-day plans.

Muggy, stormier afternoon expected in Maryland

Showers and a few storms are developing in western Maryland and northern Virginia. Wet weather begins to move into the Baltimore metro between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. In Baltimore, the greatest chance for heavy rain and gusty storms will be between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
