A Victorian pub in Bloxwich could be transformed if new plans are approved by Walsall Council.

A proposal has been submitted to convert The Bell, on the corner of High Street and Bell Lane, into a convenience store and two flats.

The Banks’s pub, which dates back to the late 1800s, closed to the public two years ago.

Applicant H+R Birmingham Ltd hopes to turn the ground floor space into the retail unit, and the first floor into two self-contained one bedroom flats.

The plans also detail a single-storey extension to the rear for use as storage for the convenience shop.
