NEW YORK — It was 3:10 in the afternoon Tuesday when Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger ended a quick interview at his locker to head to a non-baseball, pre-game commitment.

Waiting for a turn, NJ Advance Media stopped Bellinger as he was leaving to ask if he’d be back.

“I’ve got a minute,” he replied.

Bellinger stayed for almost 15.

The subject was his future with the Yankees beyond the 2025 season.

A few minutes later, before the Yankees blew out the Twins 9-1 , center fielder Trent Grisham stood at a locker stall that is a few feet to the left of Bellinger’s and talked about his contract.

Both will likely hit free agency after the World Series. Grisham becomes a free agent in the offseason and Bellinger will, too, if he passes on a $25 million player option for 2026 that w
