BEMIDJI — Sanford Bemidji and the Red Lake and Cass Lake Indian Health Service Hospitals invite community members to the 20th Annual Niimi’idiwin (Powwow) on Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, 1300 Anne St. NW.

The celebration will be held in the field west of the hospital.

The annual powwow provides an opportunity for Sanford Health and Indian Health Services to invite community members to gather for a free celebration of holistic healing and our community’s Ojibwe heritage, a release said.

Dancer registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with grand entry starting at 1 p.m.

The powwow will be held with the following specials: men's grass dance, women’s jingle dance, men's and women's traditional dance, royalty and veteran's specials and spot dances throughout.
