ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - In the midst of their investigation into last Friday’s shooting at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) headquarters in Atlanta, several law enforcement agencies held a joint news conference on Tuesday.
GBI Director Chris Hosey said the suspect, 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White, shot and killed himself.
Patrick Joseph White, 30, has been identified as the shooter in the Friday incident near the CDC and Emory University. Law enforcement officials said White shot and killed himself. (GBI)

White, who had no known criminal history, broke into his father’s gun safe to retrieve five firearms that were brought to the shooting, according to Hosey.
