Four cars flee scene of hit-and-run crash at 18th Street intersection in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a Tuesday night hit-and-run crash.

At 6:44 p.m., police were called to a crash near the intersection of 18th Street and Indiana Avenue.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a Chevrolet Malibu was speeding eastbound on 18th Street when it hit a Toyota Highlander driving north on Indiana Avenue.

The Chevrolet then struck a Dodge Durango that was driving west on 18th Street. The Toyota spun out into the westbound lanes of 18th Street and hit a Ford Taurus and a Chrysler 200, which were both traveling west on 18th Street.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. A juvenile in the back of the Toyota was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
