South Bruce OPP say an Arran-Elderslie man is facing charges after crashing into a hydro pole.

Police say on Aug. 11 around 3:58 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision along Sideroad 5 Elderslie in Arran-Elderslie.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a vehicle had crashed into a hydro pole and when they spoke with the driver, they detected signs of impairment.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

As a result, the 45-year-old was charged with operation while impaired and dangerous operation.

He is set to appear in court next month in Walkerton.
