COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Officers with the Cobb County Police Department were recognized by Gov. Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp this week for their rescue in June of two children from a hot car at Cumberland Mall.
The incident occurred back in June, with bodycam showing the actions officers took to get the kids out of the car.
Police were called after bystanders noticed two kids locked in the car in the parking lot and called 911. Cobb Police stated that the high for the day was 87° and the internal temperature of the car was 117°. According to warrants, the children were left in the car for 41 minutes.
