Dozens of business owners along Bell Boulevard were left to pick up the pieces after severe flooding damaged storefronts, inventory, and infrastructure last week. Thanks to the NYC Department of Small Business Services’ (SBS) Emergency Response Unit (ERU), many businesses received immediate recovery and preparedness support, and were able to stay open despite the higher-than-expected rainfall.
Within hours, SBS’s ERU team was on the ground, canvassing door-to-door in Bayside, assessing damage and ensuring that business owners didn’t have to navigate recovery on their own.
