HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -- With a tropical air mass over the Southeast Region, the Tennessee Valley will see a threat of heavy rain on Wednesday.

With the threat of flooding, the National Weather Service in Huntsville issued an Areal Flood Watch until 7 p.m. Wednesday. Counties included in the watch are DeKalb, Jackson, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, and Marshall counties in Alabama, as well as Franklin and Lincoln counties in Tennessee.

Widely scattered showers and storms will remain possible through the evening hours. With plenty of moisture in place, pockets of moderate to heavy rain will support an additional one to potentially two inches of rain in locations that already saw heavy rain this morning. Isolated higher totals will be possible with thunderstorms.
