LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One of the Bluegrass State's favorite summer traditions is almost here: the Kentucky State Fair.

The 11-day event will kick off Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Among the highlights are a packed concert lineup , the World's Championship Horse Show at Freedom Hall and the "Pride of the Counties" exhibit, plus no shortage of fried food items and carnival rides.
